An accelerated creep assessment method based on inelastic strain partitioning and slow strain rate testing

چکیده

A new accelerated creep assessment method to evaluate the performance of metals and alloys from high-temperature tensile tests, i.e. slow-strain-rate testing (SSRT), is proposed evaluated. The consists decomposing inelastic strain into a plastic component by adopting general assumptions on behaviour materials, formulated using state variable formalism verified tests with intermediate dwell times at constant stress. Either, components are considered non-interacting additive, as observed in stainless steel AISI 316L 600 °C. Or, case ductile cast iron EN-GJS-SiMo5-1 500 °C nickel-base superalloy Hastelloy X 800 °C, unified, meaning that effect straining same irrespective whether it caused through stress or deformation due an instantaneous increase. Based these assumptions, used assess SSRT good agreement conventional test results.

SLOW STRAIN RATE TESTING OF STEEL 14MoV6-3

Slow strain rate test (SSRT) represent a dynamic slowly increasing strain imposed by an external means on uniaxial tension specimen according to ASTM G 129 standard. It is used for relatively rapid screening or comparative evaluation of environmental, processing or metallurgical variables that can affect resistance of material. Testing has been accomplished on low-alloyed boiler steel 14MoV6-3 ...

Strain-rate effects in rheological models of inelastic response

Stress–strain response under constant and variable strain-rate is studied for selected models of inelastic behavior. The derived closed-form solutions for uniaxial loading enable simple evaluation of the strain-rate effects on the material response. The effect of an abrupt change of strain-rate is also examined. Non-Newtonian viscosity which decreases with an increasing strain-rate is incorpora...

Ultra High Strain Rate Nanoindentation Testing

Strain rate dependence of indentation hardness has been widely used to study time-dependent plasticity. However, the currently available techniques limit the range of strain rates that can be achieved during indentation testing. Recent advances in electronics have enabled nanomechanical measurements with very low noise levels (sub nanometer) at fast time constants (20 µs) and high data acquisit...
